I love this DVD and glad I bought it.

I really enjoy the extra sections using the band for toning, can feel it work and the other levels helped bring along in learning yoga.

Between the instructor (she is great) the scenary (beautiful) and the actual instruction I would highly recommend this DVD

I'd do this on Sundays when I have more than 1/2 hr to exercise. I do the whole thing which is about 50 minutes long. Commander Tom is likeable. He cues well and he put together a routine that's easy to follow. As other reviewers have said, the moves here are the typical push-ups, mountain climbers, squat thrusts, squat thrusts/plank jack/push-up combo, lunges, football sprints, jumping jacks, boxers, lateral leaps, etc. I was drinking water in between [few seconds taken away from the marching in place part]. For the short weights section, I personally prefer 3-5 lbs. 'coz I don't want to bulk up. The abs section is short but very challenging. I was breathing hard and sweating a lot when I finished and that felt great [meaning, I truly accomplished something...] This is my circuit training DVD to alternate with Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. On alternate cardio days, I do Abs Diet 2 Speed Intervals, Turbo Jam Fat Blaster and Urban Rebounding....Aside from Urban Rebounding rountines, I do all the hi-impact moves on my rebounder/mini-trampoline. I'd like my knees to last.....This is my current workout rotation and will change in 4-6 weeks. I have been exercising consistently for about 7 years now [6 days /week-Sunday to Friday] so I consider myself high-intermediate level.

Buy this DVD, use it regularly and you'll be surprised how fit you're going to be....

This workout was my intro to pilates and has remained my core workout (2-3 times a week) for many months. I have gone from a size 20 to a 16 with a lo-carb diet and pilates exercise.
What I love about this workout...no jumping around, no shoes, no equipment needed - except a very good yoga mat and I do suggest getting the 1 inch thick type!! I had neck surgery and many workouts cause me pain...this workout makes me feel wonderful, strong, flexible, and relaxed!! My abs, legs and hips are shaping up fast, but for the upperbody I need a weekly workout w/ weights.
I love the scenic views, the simplicity of the workout, and the meditational benefits of this program but to get the full impact it requires a full hour of concentration (i.e. alone time without interuptions!!)
Even months later I still get a very good workout with this program. The pace is perfect for beginners and now I just increase my reps during the instruction portions. I have tried several other pilates workouts looking for the right companion to this but I have yet to enjoy any other pilates workout as much I enjoy this one!!!! Denise Austin, Pilates for Everybody using resistence bands is my second favorite and a good intermediate step after mastering this.

This book is excellent. I read it everyone morning. It gets me going for the day. I am a graduate student, and I am guilty of reading during class. A student next to me asked what I was reading, and I showed her. She borrowed it, and for about 14 of my 100 days I didn't have it. I had to get it back for my remaining days. Also, when I wanted to eat something that I shouldn't, I would grab the book and reread a section. The book is interactive and ,therefore, less monotonous.

I guess I'm in the minority but I do not like this DVD at all. I've done several of the workouts and viewed all of them. All of the workouts are basically just Sun Salutations and standing poses rearranged to fit different time frames. Some workouts have weights and bands added to them.

The main thing that bugs me about this DVD is the sterile technicality of it. It was very, "Do this, then do that, now do this..." etc. There was no emphasis on breath, no time for centering yourself for a minute or so before your workout. The instructor's voice was not very relaxing to listen to either. There was very faint hint of music in the background. I like music during my yoga workouts so it was almost a tease to me.

I've done quite a few Yoga DVD's where I sweat buckets but they still have the relaxing meditative quality, the focus on breath, and they can still be a very demanding workout without being so sterile and technical. I prefer a more meditative Vinyasa Flow style workout, I guess. While this DVD definitely has some very challenging workouts, it lacks the mind-body emphasis that makes Yoga unique. Otherwise why not just do Pilate's or aerobics?

It just wasn't for me but if you prefer a "no nonsense" purely physical approach to Yoga you might like it. I'd still suggest you do some stretching though before you start this DVD as you will be going right into demanding poses like Chaturanga (the yoga push-up) within a minute or so of starting. Also you should be familiar with Yoga's ujaii (sp?) breathing first as this DVD does not give any information on the very essence of what makes a workout "Yoga". Otherwise you might as well just be doing any random body postures, twists, or stretches.

I can't personally recommend this DVD because of my issues with it but if the above gripes are not important to you you may like this DVD.

I ordered it and although sometimes it does work, not all the time but sometimes, but I find that I am uncontrolably and uncomfortably hungery a few hours later. More importantly, the marketing is a rip off. You have to return the product to cancel the monthly billing which is 30 days from the day you order. You receive the product about 2 weeks later. When you return the product it takes 2 weeks to process. There's a slim chance you might lose a few pound ... Slim! There's 99% chance you will be billed no matter when you cancel. Another Rip Off!

This book is a joy to read: remarkably straightforward, clear and easy to read, filled with fascinating nutritional information, and with 85 splendid recipes. The simple recipes accompanied by truly gorgeous full color photos of the food produced are reason enough to buy this book. I am not a good cook, but I found the recipes easy-to-follow and well worth the minor effort involved. And the amazing photos of the end results gave me encouragement. Every recipe looks delicious and presents both an idea of what you're striving for and useful and interesting nutritional information.
I have always loved carbs and incorporated them into my dieting. But after reading this book I feel I can make more knowledgeable and healthy choices. I prefer non-ripe bannanas and now realize they are better for me.
The actual success stories occur throughout the book and include encouraging statements and realistic results. A number of the people featured lost 10 pounds or less in a slow but steady manner -- I found this particularly refreshing and a good reminder of what a difference 5-10 pounds can make.
I consider this a most appealing and informative book and give it 5 stars without hesitation.
